Birtsmorton Court Wedding Photography
Laura & Daniel - May 2019
In May I had the pleasure of photographing Laura and Daniel’s wedding at the marvellous Birtsmorton Court in Worcestershire.
Since they booked me back in 2017 I had been looking forward to getting a chance to photograph in the beautiful grounds that Birtsmorton Court is blessed with. Laura and Daniel had planned for an outdoor ceremony in the White Garden. With its decorative pergola, fountain and fragrant white flowers, the White Garden is ideal for a relaxed outdoor ceremony and I was keeping my fingers crossed that the weather would be kind to us on the day. Our luck was in and the happy couple were able to say their vows with their guests surrounding them on three sides. I’ve not a ceremony before where guests were seated on three sides and it certainly gave their day a unique look.
PICTURE PERFECT VENUE
The expansive layout makes being a Birtsmorton Court wedding photographer a real pleasure. There is the main house, a Grade I listed building, with it’s stunning lake and terrace garden. It also has a bridal suite which we used for the last stage of Bride prep. The White Garden, with large lawn area close by offers stunning backdrops. There is another large building complex which houses a lovely apartment which is great for morning prep (Laura stared off her morning here before Daniel arrived). This is connected to the marquee for the wedding breakfast and the large Garden Room (which believe it or not is a converted Elizabethan bowling alley). Another smaller garden area next to the marquee is a great place to relax in the evening sun as is the small bar area with comfy couches. There is also overnight accommodation for up to 16 guests. It really is a perfect place to get married and spend the day celebrating. There’s even a church on site if you want a religious ceremony!
Not only is Birtsmorton Court a dream to work at for a wedding photographer, Laura and Daniel were brilliant for me to work for as well. They had booked me to capture their day as they were keen to relax and enjoy their wedding without a photographer dictating their moves or taking too many staged shots. I enjoyed the morning prep as both bride and groom got ready at the venue which meant I could cover both in detail. Due to the facilities at Birtsmorton all their closest family could get ready there too. This meant there was a lot to capture in the morning as parents, grandparents, siblings, bridesmaids and groomsmen all got ready in the various rooms and there was a wonderful atmosphere to the morning preparations as both families got on so well.
After morning prep the day was nice and relaxed as Birtsmorton’s staff made sure everything ran to plan. Laura & Daniel just wanted a handful of groups and along with a chilled out 10 minute couple’s shoot they spent the whole day enjoying the wedding they had pictured in their heads, mainly drinking and laughing with their closest family and friends. It was a pleasure to be their to capture the day and provide a lasting legacy of real moments of them to treasure.
Below is a selection of images from the day. I hope you enjoy looking through. If you are getting married at Birtsmorton Court, or elsewhere, and would like your day captured in a true documentary style as I have one for Laura and Daniel please get in touch. I love to hear from you.
Dating back to 1241, this Grade 1 listed exclusive-use wedding venue within 350 acres of private estate in the beautiful West Midlands countryside is just amazing and I loved being a Birtsmorton Court wedding photographer. The staff were attentive and helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly. The wide number of rooms and outdoor ares really set this venue apart from many that I've photographed at. From ceremony to catering, dancing to accommodation, there really are endless choices for every aspect of your Birtsmorton Court wedding.
