The Redhouse Barn Wedding Photography | Alice & toby
Back in July I had the pleasure of returning to The Redhouse Barn to photograph Alice & Toby’s wedding. The Redhouse Barn is a stunning rural venue set in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, just outside Bromsgrove in the village of Stoke Prior. Nestled in 5 acres of grounds and beautiful mature romantic gardens The Redhouse Barns are the perfect setting for a wedding day and a pleasure to photograph at. Comprising of two barns connected with a modern build, it works as one big building, meaning if you’re unlucky enough to get rain on your day you and your guests won’t need to go outside to get to the ceremony or to the wedding breakfast. Although there was no danger of rain on Alice & Toby’s day as it was right in the middle of one of the extreme heatwaves we saw last summer and they were able to enjoy the wonderful grounds throughout the day.
The Redhouse Barn is a multi-award winning venue and their coordinators are some of the best I’ve worked with meaning weddings always run smoothly. It’s also just a 5 minute drive from my house which a nice little bonus for me!
All in one wedding venue
The morning started in the Redhouse Barns’ upstairs bridal prep room. Alice, her mother and her bridesmaids went through the morning routine of hair & make-up while guests arrived downstairs for the ceremony.
The ceremony took place in the barn that gives the venue it’s name. The red brick barn dates back 1779 and is big enough to accommodate 105 guests. During the summer the side doors can be opened to give the room a feeling of being outside while in the winter there is underfloor heating to keep everyone nice and warm.
After the ceremony guests mingled in the grounds outside enjoying the summer sun, and playing the garden games with some rather competitive table tennis and giant Connect 4.
During the drinks reception the new Mr & Mrs Philpott and some of their guests arranged a balloon release to remember a family member who had sadly passed away.
Award Winning Catering
The wedding breakfast took place inside the Timberframed Barn. The larger of the two barns, it’s an ideal room for the meal with high airy ceiling and large windows which can be opened on hot days. Guests enjoyed food from Morgans Catering, who are used exclusively by the Redhouse Barn. One of the perks of my job is sampling food from a variety of wedding venues and Morgans food is second to none. They have won The Food Industry Awards 'Best Caterer' 2014 to 2017.
In the evening the Timberframed Barn doubles as the dance floor. The Redhouse Barn has one of the best dance floors around. The floor lights up with small LEDs and the in-house lighting & sound system is a class apart from most venues which sets the scene for a great nights entertainment.
Below are a selection of images from the day.
