THE MILL BARNS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

This May I had the pleasure of photographing Teresa & Ben’s wedding at the fantastic Mills Barns, near the village of Alveley in south east Shropshire.

The Mill Barns is one of the country’s only purpose-built barn wedding venues. Opening in 2017, this waterfront venue offers couples exclusive-use of three magnificent oak framed wedding barns, luxury onsite accommodation, eight acres of mature landscaped gardens, mesmerising water features and a unique walkway taking in three stunning outdoor terraces. It’s safe to say that the Mill Barns is a wedding venue like no other.

One of the things I love about being a Mill Barns wedding photographer is that everything you need for the day is on one site. There’s no logistics to think about getting from prep to ceremony to the reception.

MILL BARNS WEDDING

Teresa and her bridesmaids got ready in the Mills Barns’ dedicated Bride prep suite while Ben arrived with his groomsmen around midday and used one the venue’s many on-site bedrooms to get changed in. As a documentary photographer I want to tell as much of the story of the day as I can and having everyone in one building makes my job much easier and means I don’t miss anything because I’m driving between venues. It’s also relaxing for couples as they can just turn up in the morning and know they are then set for the day.

Formerly the site of a 17th century water mill, the Mill Barns has been purpose built from the ground up to host stunning weddings. Owned by Best Day Ever who have organised weddings for many years at other nearby top class wedding venues Pendrell Hall and Ashes Barns. So you know when you book a wedding here you’re in safe hands. Couples work with a designated coordinator who stays on site until the couple go to bed. This is one of the only venues I have worked at where the day time coordinator stays this late, usually a different person is in charge during the evening, but I really like the dedication to providing the couple with such a personal service. The food is also first class here and one of the venue’s big selling points.
